At the Technical Center adjacent to the Osaka Head Office building, we are researching and developing products that will meet the diversifying needs of customers, working on ways to reduce costs, providing technical support to customers, and carrying out other technical-related activities. We are also focused on ensuring Asahipen products maintain a stable level of quality, and so we do trial purchases of our products on sale as a way of taking every precaution to assure their quality.

Research & Development

Every researcher at Asahipen fully applies their ample innovative creativity to areas beyond the scope of their individual specialty fields, and repeatedly carries out experiments and studies.
With safety and environmental protection as priorities, we are working on developing products from the customers’ perspective, so that our customers can be satisfied with Asahipen products and use them with peace of mind to bring convenience in their lives. We are also creating competitive products that will differentiate Asahipen from our competitors.

Development of Devices and Tools

So that we can meet the diversifying needs of customers, we are enriching our product lineup and also developing devices and tools that affect the finish of Asahipen products.

Cost Reductions

Another area we are focusing on is cost reductions by collecting the latest information on raw materials and promoting the efficient use of raw materials and their alternatives, while also improving production efficiency.

At the Hyogo Plant in Kato City, Hyogo Prefecture, we produce our main product of household paints, as well as industrial-use paints. In recent years, high-mix and small-lot production has become an essential part of meeting the diversifying needs of customers. We are working on raising the productivity with a small number of employees such as by automating measuring and weighing, filling, packaging and other processes in order to streamline production and make it more efficient. The Hyogo Plant has been awarded the Osaka Regional Bureau of International Trade and Industry Director-General’s Award as an excellent factory for the implementation of industrial standardization. We are carrying on this spirit of quality control even today, and we carry out strict control and inspections at both the production and quality control departments. These efforts are part of our system for the stable production of high-quality products that will satisfy customers.

In addition to five directly-managed distribution centers nationwide, we have set up a network of partnerships with community-based consignment warehouse companies. This enables us to quickly ship products once ordered, and helps to minimize lost sales opportunities at stores.
